Ouch .. I just stumbled across this post and hope that you made a full recovery Joseph! Hope to see you blogging again, even if only once in a blue moon or when the wolf starts to howl. :-)

A very open and personal post Joseph, it was lovely to see you happy and healthy at the VITTA conference at IGS. We never seem to get the time to have a good chat though. I always 'pop' in to your blog to see what you have been doing and have missed your posts of late. Good luck with the renovations.

Joseph, the event you engineered was awesome and it certainly was great to have a meal with yourself and Warrick afterwards. Blogging takes time to do properly and blogging just for the sake of it can be counter-productive. Hope that your health remains good and when things calm down (even slightly) we see more of your thoughts out in the edublogosphere.

Hi Jo,

I did a similar project with my students in Term 1. Here is an example of one finished product: http://globalteacher.org.au/2007/05/03/digital-story-little-miss-fit/

By the way, I love your blog and I will keep checking it regularly - you have some great ideas!

Joseph, it looks to me like you've been tagged with the 8 random things meme. So, I know you're busy (aren't we all?) get out there and tell 'em 8 random things about yourself. OK? p.s. looking forward to the 30th!

[...] We conducted the net cast using a free trial on some desktop conferencing software and used Skype for the voice call. It was quite a challenge for me as you don’t have the ability to see the faces of your audience so you don’t know when to go back over things or just shut-up fo a minute! Joseph Papaleo helped organise the event for his school and from his responses it seemed to be a success. [...]

This is a fantastic list - thanks for pointing us to it! Now, if only I was 'allowed' to explore this in my workplace, I would be even happier. :-) Jo and Sean certainly do a great job leading us all in this field. The problem is bandwidth (of course) for schools in Australia, and the fact that there are so many aspects of Web 2.0 that we need to encourage teachers in - that somehow SL does not yet have the prominence that I believe it will in coming years.
