About Me - Joseph Papaleo
Husband, father, learner, teacher - in that order.
Husband for 12 years, father of four great kids, always learning and my job is to teach.
I am fortunate that I teach in a wonderful school in Melbourne, Australia. This is my fifth school I have taught in and each school has allowed me to develop my own ideas in how technology can be used in the classroom. What was appropriate many years ago is no longer appropriate now, so my thoughts are constantly evolving.
Our world is also evolving in many ways. Technology has changed the way people do things. And now with Web 2.0 technology, I keep asking myself “Is Education keeping up with technology?” Perhaps I’m wrong to even contemplate this question.
This blog, wiki and forum will focus on my thoughts on using computer technology in education in the 21st century. How can we use Tablet PCs, blogs, wikis, blikis, podcasts, vodcasts, screencasts, Google Earth, GPS and GIS, Interactive White Boards and other new technologies?
Perhaps, I will come to a clearer understanding of what new technologies can offer and then apply them to my own classroom and students. Perhaps I will come to the discovery that they offer nothing and that I have wasted all of this time. Then again, maybe it won’t be a waste of time.
Will you join me?
